POWR+ Shooting Experience

  • Wateree Range 14068 Garners Ferry Road Eastover, SC, 29044 United States (map)

Join the staff from the South Carolina Wildlife Federation and officers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for a POWR+ Shooting Experience at DNR’s Wateree Range in Eastover, SC. This event is limited to 12 participants and is perfect for the beginner or those with a little more experience. All skill levels are welcome! Beginners will learn the basics while more experienced participants will utilize the trap fields to sharpen their skills. There will also be an opportunity for 5 stands depending on experience level. In addition to the shotguns, we will be on the rifle range using .22's and stepping up from there depending on the experience of the group.

Participants will meet at the Wateree Classroom at 9:00 am for an introduction and safety talk and then head out to the ranges. SCDNR will provide shotguns, rifles, and necessary ammunition. If participants want to bring their own shotgun, we ask them to furnish their own shells for their specific firearm. Participants will bring a bag lunch and a staff member from SCWF will present information on wildlife viewing during the lunch break. (Yes, it is possible to see amazing flora and fauna even on a range!) A photographer will also be there to capture great moments on the range for participants.

What are POWR+ classes? Due to the demand for our Palmetto Outdoors Women Retreat, we have added (+) new one-day workshops across the state. POWR+ events are open to all women whether you have attended the retreat or have yet to do so.
