Thank you to all of the volunteers who joined SCWF on December 4, 2021, at Archer’s Lake, which is a magnet for year-round and migratory waterfowl. Beautiful ducks feed and seek shelter on the lake during the winter months but they are also at risk of ingesting plastics and other debris in and around the water. In just three hours, thousands of litter items were removed making Archer’s Lake a safer and less polluted environment for these beautiful creatures!
Here are the numbers from our litter sweep at Archers Lake. We removed almost 4,000 litter items, so give yourself a hand to celebrate that accomplishment! Check out the link below to SCWF's page on the SC Aquarium's "Litter Free Digital Journal" program.

Please take a peek at it for a summary of items, and feel free to explore their site to check out other litter sweeps they've had around the state. We also encourage you to organize your own sweep and record the data! This will help make SC a cleaner place for wildlife and people!
