Earlier this year, our "Forks, Knives, & Spoonbills: A Dinner Celebrating Conservation" in Greenville was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are happy to report, we have a new date and a new plan for our special evening!
Join us on Friday, December 4th for a To-Go Date Night! Ticket holders (21+ up only) will pick up a 3-course meal plus a bottle of wine from Greenville's Passerelle Bistro. They will also receive a video to guide them through the imperiled species represented by each course. There are 10 additional tickets available.
Help Improve Habitat for Oysters

A healthy oyster population in South Carolina depends on your recycled oyster shells, which are collected and used to rebuild oyster reefs. Every 3 bushels makes 10 square feet of reef, so every bushel counts! SCDNR is expanding its South Carolina Oyster Recycling and Enhancement Program (SCORE) to the midlands and looking for dedicated volunteers to help recycle oyster shell from participating restaurants.
Pearlz Oyster Bar located downtown Columbia has agreed to be serviced. More restaurants will be added as volunteer teams grow. Volunteers will be tasked with replacing full oyster shell receptacles with empty receptacles and taking shell to the nearby public drop-off location. Most restaurants will need to be serviced once a week. Time dedication is dependent on volunteer's availability, and restaurants will be notified to toss shell if service cannot be provided for the week. For more information, email SCORE@dnr.sc.gov or contact Holly K. Sommers at 843-953-9057.
