South Carolina Wildlife Federation
Conserving ~ Advocating ~ Restoring ~ Educating
Since 1931
South Carolina Wildlife Federation’s mission is to
conserve and restore South Carolina’s wildlife and
wildlife habitat through education and advocacy.
Why It Matters
Because you need nature and nature needs you. And that holds true for all of us: hunters and fishermen, hikers and bikers, bird watchers and nature lovers, surfers and kayakers, and countless others. Nature improves our quality of life. It reduces our stress and makes us healthier. It gives us opportunities for recreation and adventure from the mountains to the sea, and all of South Carolina's beautiful places in between. But most of all, nature allows us to live more fulfilling lives. By connecting with nature, we reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones. And by protecting the natural world around us, we fuel our bodies, our minds, our souls....more
wildlife need your help
Safeguarding our natural resources is more important than ever in South Carolina. Population is increasing across the state. Cities are expanding. The path of progress is a major threat to our wildlife and their habitats. But you can make sure that doesn’t happen. This is a call for help—and there are so many ways you can do that. We all have a stake in this. When we nurture South Carolina’s natural resources, those resources will in turn nurture us, and give us a better, brighter, more beautiful world in which to live.
create your own habitat
You can help wildlife thrive in our state by creating a habitat. SCWF’s habitat restoration programs are a fun, easy way to make a big difference for wildlife, and are increasingly critical as both cities and human populations expand. By choosing the right plants and adding food, water, cover, and places to raise young, your yard will spring to life! You can make a commitment to help wildlife by certifying your yard, balcony container garden, school, church, work landscape, or any greenspace into a Certified Wildlife Habitat®.
